The competition is open to students from the following areas:

Engineering - All branches of Engineering
Science - Students specializing in Mathematics, Physics,
Chemistry, Computer Science & Computer Applications
Management - All areas of specialization
Arts & Commerce - All areas of specialization

There is no restriction regarding the year the student is studying
The competition is open to both undergraduate & post graduate students
Number of students per team (for presentation purposes)
Maximum of five students
Minimum of 1 student

Registration:
Students selected for Paper Submission should submit the paper along with Rs. 1000 registration fee and registration form duly filled.

Technical Innovators Stream

Innovative Technical Ideas with or without working Prototype
Open to all students but the main target is the students from Engineering & Science area

Business Innovators Stream

Innovative business ideas for a product or service
Open to all students

Social Innovators Stream

Innovative business ideas for social change/development
Open to all students

Guidelines for Abstract

The abstract should give a clear indication of the objective, scope, and results of the paper.
The main body of abstract must be typed single-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman font and be no more than 350 words.
The title page of abstract must contain the name of the members as on their college ID cards, name of their college(s), contact email addresses and contact numbers.
All abstract shall have a bibliography/references page and appropriate footnotes
Abstract using plagiarized material will be automatically disqualified

Evaluation Criteria

Innovation
The idea has to be original and innovative

Practicality
Feasibility of the idea/solution for practical implementation and being useful.

Making a Difference
Economic Development - Challenge the established businesses and exploit new opportunities.
Social Relevance: Address social and local regional issues & problems.
Environmental Excellence: Addressing issues in the environmental area.

Contest Participation Procedure

Submit the Paper Abstract by October 6th, 2009

Shortlisted abstracts to submit the full paper along with the registration fee of Rs 1000 by December 12th , 2009
The registration fee to be submitted by post/courier to CII office
The final paper need to be submitted to the email id - aparna.ganesh@cii.in

Contest Awards

Three most meritorious teams under each stream will win cash awards and a citation for each team member.
In addition to the three most meritorious teams additional 10 teams from each stream will receive citation and non-cash awards.
All registered students are eligible to participate in individual competitions at Innovators 2009 Final Event in February 2010.
During Innovators 2009 Final Event the students get an exposure to view the innovative products and solutions from industries and can interact with Industry leaders and Innovators from various industries
